Get to know Russell
Russell Thirgood headshotRussell is a senior commercial lawyer and practising arbitrator. He is a partner at McCullough Robertson lawyers and over the last 20 years has helped resolve many complex disputes using a range of ADR and formal litigation techniques. Russell is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London), Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and IAMA. Earlier this year he was named in the Australian Financial Review’s Best Lawyers in Australia list in the categories of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Infrastructure and Construction Law. He teaches arbitration and advanced construction law at the University of Melbourne’s Master of Laws program and the University of Queensland. Russell has been the editor of The Arbitrator and Mediator since 2002 and is presently the Company Secretary, Director and Chair of the Determinative Committee of LEADR & IAMA.
